Eventually found something prettier than flies for some macro shots , used a combination of 36mm extension tubes with 400mm lens to get this shot , found these creatures to shy to let me get close enough with 105 macro , extension tubes allowed me to focus at one meter , usually about 1.5 without . Happy with this combination and will use it again . cheers for taking a look . Kel

Nice image.
Well exposed with good detail especially on the eye.
Butterflies are easier to capture early in the morning before they warm up and become more flighty.

A lovely angle and the butterfly's colour works well with the blossom. You are becoming quite the insect hunter! Is there a wee bit of camera shake as it's not pin sharp? Either that or it is the extension tube.
