Looks remarkably like the stairs in the Baltic! I've always taken other photographers there, never tried them myself.
Nicely abstract.

Very good Kel! What a great find, you can add this to Byker for locations to take me next time my family and I visit, there's nothing like that up here, not when the tallest structure is 2 storeys! Wink
I wonder if having the nearest handrail emerging from a corner of the frame with the stairs at an angle to the frame rather than parallel to it would add more energy? If you have more levels of stairs to add then great though already they are hard to separate by the bottom so it may not add too much. Got to be worth trying though! I wonder what the original colour file looks like? Sometimes that works better than toning the image like this. As for noise, That will come from using ISO 3200 which is a noisy setting on the 450D (and lots of other cameras). A tripod (like your giotto's one) with the center column extended and angled should allow you to use a lower ISO, if you are allowed to use one there.
