Taken just into the New year down at West Bay. It was a glorious day with bright light (still plenty of snow around). This was taken at about 1500 hence the low and fading light that really made the wooden pillers stand out -which is in part why I took the shot.

But the real interest for me are the figures they composed themselves (which is just as well I don't think they would have taken to kindly to me trying to tell them where to stand!!).

Post production work to the sky which is noisy for some tastes. A fairly tight crop to get rid of fg water and stuff going on right off frame.

1/350 sec on f11 at iso 100 - handheld.

Thanks for looking

Best wishes

Robert

Like this a lot. There's an odd symmetry between the posts and the clouds.

Looks like a painting and I mean that as a poistive! I really enjoy the separation of the people and the strong wooden uprights topped off by the great clouds. Love it!

Definite hints of Lowry in those figures, against a strong abstract, linear composition. Intriguing image.

I really like this too Robert - had to look twice, it really does look like a painting. Strong composition, I like the cloud formation and the figures add a sort of 'time gone by' feel to it.
