Milan's famous cathedral, given the mono treatment with the exception of one interesting face which happened to be in the foreground. The things you never see when you're using a point-and-shoot: for every shot ruined because of some unwanted intrusion not noticed when composing without the benefit of a viewfinder, there are many happy (for me, at any rate) accidents, like this one. All IMHO, of course. Each to their own.

I do like the inclusion of the face and the fact you've left it in colour. Great image Bob!

Brilliant shot, great composition and it really works well as a mono, I do like the inclusion of the face left in colour.

Very good psychology, Bob. As a mono head it's an intrusion. By spot colouring and drawing attention to it, it becomes a significant part of the image. Excellent work.

This really looks like a wet print with that dark red sky resulting from use of a red filter. At first I thought I'd prefer this without the head, but on second and third looks it adds such a quirkiness to the image that I now like it better. Grin

The random arrival of a pretty girl... I can understand your selective approach. Dave is, as usual, spot on in his comment. I tend not to do selective colour very often, but I often reckon that if something is really annoyingly intrusive and I can't clone it out the next best thing is to burn it in for emphasis!

it sort of slaps you in the face GrinGrin

love the mono conversion and the selective `face' works well.

And what a face to choose! Raphael, perhaps, one of those cheeky putti, perfect in this situation at the edge of the frame.
The rest of the photo is good, too Wink

I like your intro, makes me think despite the weight I should keep the Nikon and forget point and shoot,it's true one does miss the viewfinder but my enthusiasm is on the wane when it comes to serious photography tut! Tut!

Love the architecture and derail in this picture

Pm on the way
