the daily news... more & more depressing isn't it....on the home front particularly
no point saying more is there
thanks for looking,
(im playing catch up on here, as not had pc for a week)
Would look great on canvas (or canvas textured)
Superb and your text sums it up nicely
Totally excellent jo straight to my favourites.
Excellent creation with a strong message
Superb work here.
Absolutely fantastic texture and image.
On a downward slope, not your images Jo ! Ron.
thanks all for your interest, comments/votes etc :-0)
Love it Jo, the different layers work great.
its funny, but you have a very distictive style now and I can spot your work in a group on the gallery, well done
I especially like your grungy distressed treatment on this one Jo. Just thinking that a really heavy vignette may suit .... forcing attention down on yourself like you're trapped in the image surrounded by doom and gloom.
Not sure whether I've gone too dark or light on my mod as I'm doing this on my laptop in a brightly lit dining room over a bowl of pasta and a mug of tea. Yummy
Edit: Bummer. just noticed you've not got mods switched on. Believe me though a heavy vignette looks good.
A tremendously powerful image. It's like one of the extra characters from a huge 'Old Master' has escaped into the real world bringing all the biblical drama with her.
Very expressive of the way many of us feel at the state of the news. Artistically well spoken.
wonderful,a class piece of art, well done
Very hard hitting. Don't want to use words like wonderful and beautiful, as the theme is ever so real and depressing. However, this is one fantastic pieace of work you've done here. Well done.
A very well constructed image and a great angle on the figure. This has qualities of an Andrew Wyeth drawing. The stark realism of the figure and the spattering are comparative IMO. Excellent work.
Absolute quality. Shortlisted...i should be used to this quality by now but every week your work still makes me think wow
thats a great image Jo , it has a message as well. Ironically the fg fingers are a bit to clean !
so powerful & so direct in its meaning.
'Bombarded' springs to mind. What a powerful piece of work, Jo - full of anger, fear, frustration. Just excellent.
thanks so much everyone!
(lol daveu, sorry no mods but i believe you :-0)
They haven't invaded Rochdale have they jo??
this is really effective, and the grungy overlay works to convey the message...superb
Love it ^_^
submit this to a 'Goya today' project. It reminds me of his famous Colossus, which latest findings say isn't his but is still a splendid painting.
Superb image and work Jo.

Brilliant! Like your style of photography and ideas!
Superb Jo - like a modern twist on a classical masterpiece...
Damn fine piece of work Jo. What else can I say. Hard to keep up with all your EC's! First thing I thought of was Raphael with a migraine.
Incredible image. Unique and inspirational.
This is an unbelievable image. How I would love to do work like this. Andre
