I've been lucky enough to visit New York City for a few days to celebrate my son's 21st birthday, and o'course I took a few snaps as you do..
heres the first of a few..a great old bookshop in the lower east side..just a 'shoot from the hip' shot

Hello, new to all this, even had to look up what you meant by DOF. I love the picture for the atmosphere it produces. If I had seen this pic I would have wanted it all in focus, do you think this would detract from the picture and its atmosphere?

No, the atmosphere would be the same i think, but the difference in focus adds to the 'depth' of the image perhaps...some times photography can be about creating a 3d perspective out of a 2D media
now that sounds like i planned it all..ha ha ![]()
