This is the actor William Brand, who came to our work shop briefly and kindly let me take a few photographs...and also agreed to let me put a picture on this site for crit and comment.

He is an extremely lovely man with beautiful eyes!

I wanted simple and clean.

ISO 400
Shutter speed 1/250
Aperture 5.0

I did actually put a version of this on first thing today, but I wasn't happy, so have had a little re-work.
Apologies to anyone who voted this morning!

I like it Pauline, - just as it is. The eyes are very good.

I like your new portfolio pic too, - you should put it up for critique!

You reckon Willie??? You don't think I would just get the sympathy vote..?????

Thanks for liking Williams portrait - I put everything I know so far into it - not expecting it to be to much in the popular stakes, butI liked it, and am glad you did too.....I feel like grasshopper being taught by his master!!! ( As long as you don't have ping pong ball eyes...)

An excellent portrait Pauline. I like how you do these, they look so natural. Just looked at your pf pic. Great one, you look so knowing that nobody could put one over on you. It's very cute...........Sandy

I liked this the first time round Pauline but that little extra space above his head has made all the difference.
A deserved EC well done.

WOW!!!
I have just come back from work....tired, grumpy and wanting to put my feet up!!!

This is THE best thing all week - truly and utterly pleased as punch!!

Thanks to Pete, and thanks to everyone for the smashing comments....

( Ps Chase - really glad I took the time to work on it now...Alley said to me a while back I need to do a bit of fine tuning, excellent advice and one I am trying to stick to, but I have to admit I do get a bit over excited with an image and put it on before it is ready sometimes! )
