After catching the latest 'bug' and being confined to the settee I decided I needed a diversion from Jeremy Kyle and Loose Women... so played around with an egg.....

Simply cracked open and placed on a piece of black card in a lightbox to try and avoid the light bouncing off the yolk...... originally it was taken from a higher viewpoint but once I got lower I realised you could see the yolk reflected in the egg white..... so here it is....

Couldn't decide between colour or B&W so I've uploaded both..... and on that note i'll leave you to ponder over this....

Behind every chicken is the story of a broken egg.
And behind every broken egg is the story of a matron chicken.
And behind every matron is another broken egg. . . .

Many thanks for viewing and will be trawling the galleries shortly... .droopy eyelids permitting.

Karen Smile

Simple but effective still life. Andy

Well done for thinking of this, it works very well although a touch over sharpened imho.

What a cracking shot!
My monitor is showing a bit of blue fringing and jpeg artefacts on the inside of the shell.
(I get that a lot on my shots so if anyone can advise how to overcome it or avoid it I would love to know.)
Don't beat yourself up over it though

Love the coloured version Karen.
Lovely blue tints to the inside of the shell, & that is a lovely deep yellow yolk, & great refelection.
So glad you are feeling better.
I hate it when I'm under the weather.
Take care,
Hilary

Clever of you....I like the color version it picks up the little nuances of the inner skin of the shell. Beautifully lit.
