Hey folks, I have made it to the grand old age of 47 and can you believe this is the first blog I have ever wrote? Anyhow being new to photography has left me with lots of questions, such as, what should my subject be, how do I work with light and how do I work with no light.

I guess most of my photos will be taken in Southeast Georgia or Northeast Florida. Hopefully I can establish an eye for a photo.

Big, wideranging questions! I'd suggest you start photographing anything that takes your fancy to start off with. They won't be brilliant at first but you may find that you like one or two subjects in particular, or want to snap everything and anything. Buy a few photomags. If you want to know anything in particular look up a tutorial on line and try some techniques out. There's too much to take in all at once and it will be a steep learning curve, but well worth the effort.

You can always post your images in the gallery here, or in the Critique Gallery for more in depth comments, as you go along.

Welcome to the site. And most of all, have fun.Smile

Photos from Florida and Georgia are more than welcome! Smile

Questions are best asked on the Forum, and if you post pictures in the Gallery and want an honest critique, be sure to tick that option on upload.

But most of all enjoy the site and your photography!
