The sun rakes across a field of wheat just before it disappears behind the incoming cloud.

Composed for the crop to pick up on all the diagonals and make use of the inevitable flare, and exposed for the sun on the wheat to deliberately underexpose the rest of the scene for atmosphere.

A very effective exposure, Kris. There's something almost biblical in those rays emerging from an unseen source! I can't decide it would have been good to darken those ears at the bottom of the frame so that they matched the rest of the sunlit crop.

Good thinking Ian but I left them as I reckon they're a counterpoint to the sun and you move backwards and forwards between them.
