Light & Ripples

Light & RipplesFor me, this would be a cracking shot if it wasn't for the unstraightened buildings on the right.
Worth a vote though.

mel 3

mel 3Always try and get the eyes sharp. Makes all the difference to a portrait.
If you look at Nick Parry's shot 'Amie' a bit further along, you'll see what I mean.

Alone

AloneNice and simple here and it looks good but my eye goes straight to the sensor dust mark just right of center and just above the horizon. The tree has a slight glow around it as well. have you lightened the tree?
I try to divide my images into sections on the screen and carfully go over the whole image making sure there are no unwanted marks.
It really pays to get the very best out of your image.
Just trying to help so I hope you read this in the honest way it was intended.
(But I still miss a few here and there.)

Rebecca 2

Rebecca 2Detail, detail and even more detail.
I'm not a girly shootist but what I'm going to say aplies to all photography in my book..................

Before you press the button or before you print/upload, look all around the frame and remove things you don't want in the shot.
Those table legs really let this shot down for me.
Hide them with your fingers on the screen and see what a difference it makes without the table legs. Just my thoughts.
(Keep the girl though, she's lovely.)

Ecuadorian Dream

Ecuadorian DreamHi Samuel,
It's a shame the faces have come out a little dark but I expect the camera has metered for the bright sky behind.
Next time you shoot against a bright sky, select spot metering and spot meter off of the faces to bring out the detail.
Better still, use a flash gun to give a little 'Fill in flash' to luminate the faces.

Good idea for a shot though.

Proud

ProudIt's a shame the bride has her eyes shut but there again, it gives the feeling of the moment when the confetti is thrown.
I also noticed the groom is holding a childs hand.......but there's no child?
