An interesting documentary shot, the main subject is the clear sky this has been shown very well but the image has been spoilt by the horizontal and verticals being out, for me this is a big distraction
Thks Steven. The actual square was sloping down as opposed to the buildings in the BG.Is this what you find distracting?
I think that you'll find there's converging verticals in the shot. I've posted a Mod. Look closely at the pilasters on the right side of the frame. I've also cropped a little of the fore ground off as well. Largely because I feel the light grey area on the bottom right is too strong.
Overall the composition, to me at least seems to lack a focal point. You have a lead in from both edges, but the building at the end is a bit dull. I'm more interested in the classical architecture to the right, and I'd like to see a shot that tells me more about that. You can still use the lines as a lead in, as the run in both directions in the square. Alternatively I'd like to see people doing something, or an object in the centre frame that catches my interest.
Thanks for the mod Barry, does look better.Did not realise the perpendiculars would be a problem.
