Super the way she hangs in mid air - excellent image.

I do understand that this wouldn't get the recognition it didn't get....thats because top class photography tends to get overlooked a lot on this site by a lot of people shooting the same old blue tit and same old seascape....nothing wrong with them, but portraiture tends to always take second fiddle to that kind of work. So, take it for what it is....this is exquisite and you have nothing to worry about! Bt will only be appreciated by a few who work in this genre or appreciate it for what it is. I don't think you can take it as a personal thing or a reflection on your photography. Just one of those things with EPZ. A shame, but thats the way it is.

There really isnt anything wrong with this image Lee. I think you have to also look at WHO is voting, rather than the number of people who are. I see the Editor, Pete, VictorHabbick, and a slew of other very high profile and outstanding shooters giving you thumbs up.

This, as well as others are excellent images, and very artistic. I see you are reaching out to ask if people prefer saturated versus desaturated, etc and now here, asking whats wrong! Nothing.

I can suggest to my particular tasted, as in the mod, - a little more space at the top, a little off the right, her eyes a little brighter, a little less "glow" in the centre, and VERY slightly more saturation, but its me, - its still a great image.

Also, your images are small size, - since youre not an E2 member, - doesnt mean theyre not as good, but some of your shots need to be seen larger to be really SEEN. And, - thought theres always debate about this, - its a site that seems to favour landscapes, and nature shots, - not a deliberate slant of the site, but of the members who make up the voting section. There are wonderful shots of that genre on here.

I have voted on your work ages ago, - and this is the first one Ive noticed in a while, as its in the Critique section where I spend 90% of me time. But I will look through your portfolio having seen this.

Hope this is helpful,

regards

Willie

thanks everyone im sorry being a pain i always see the worst in my work and that its not of any standard i know i have a lot to learn and to get a whole lot better. I can never understand the voting and do see it as a reflection of the quality which usually makes me go away and make it better but as you all say i shouldnt worry about it Smile thankyou again

This is very very good. I take no notice of the voting system at all - if it's not a landscape, you get poor votes. (Check that - you'll see I'm close to correct.) I now rarely put anything in the gallery for voting, just critique.

I wonder if the above image might be stronger a little darker - otherwise it is superb.

The voting system on here is more to do with who you know and vote for than how good your images are. I dont get many votes on my own work, which I also consider to be of a high standard, but I do look at who votes for me. If its someone whos work I admire than thats what makes it worth the effort.

I liked your image the first time round and dont think that many on this site including myself could have created it. My only improvement would be in the post processing and I have uploaded a mod to show what I would have done. Its only a contrast and saturation boost and a little selective darkening.

Its a great image and yes it can be disheartening when you dont get the recognition an image deserves, I guess thats life though and you have to carry on regardless.

Steve.

I shouldn't worry about the main gallery either, it seems to be a bit 'clikkey' in some areas where mates vote for each other.
Here you do have the makings of a stunning shot and all it needs is depth with saturation applied. To be honest I like Willie's mod the most followed closely by Steve's. The only difference between tghem from my point of view, is the adding of canvas to the top which gives the model a better location within your frame and thereby a much better overall balance.

Well done

Frank

Hi Lee - I always liked the concept of this image since you first uploaded, but also found the way that the fabric just hung at the ends, to be distracting, wondering whether it would look better to be hung outside of the frame, or to be more shrouded in smoke. I've done a mod which is intended to draw the eye in toward the subject's face, whilst trying to maintain most of the elements within the shot to a lesser extent, using a faded blur.

Bloody good concept with that title as well.

Petals holding her up , clever , the tips of the fabric essential and left as they are with the stem !

All tied in with great pp skills , mua , dress , lighting the lot.

Its one of the best conceptual fashion shots Ive seen on here for a long long time Smile

Best way to bounce ideas is to have a look and chat with other photographers in your league.

Members fb101 , Johntisbury , uppercut , Tonyd3 et al spring to mind. (Not sure if im allowed to link the work)

Class shot.

Thankyou for these kind words i wouldn't put myself in the same league as any of these legends but i have seen the voting on some of their work and have to agree that it doesn't reflect on the images at all, i'm feeling much more relaxed about it as like i say i thought it was a reflection of how good or bad the images are.

Thankyou to everyone
