Lovely shot Dougie.Really like the overhanging sparse branches, gives a nice frame but also allows the sky details to show through.

A wonderfully composed, exposed and captured photograph showing this beautiful part of the world Dougie, with superb colour and clarity in depth.

Very beautiful. It's as though we are peering under a veil of foliage, the leaves frame the composition but also create a sense of distance, they distinguish here from there, if that makes sense.

"After a long struggle through dense jungle we gradually emerge from the foliage . . . . "
Far-fetched, I know, but the deep fringe rather suggests to me a sudden emergence into light after days of darkness, a welcome feeling indeed.

Regards
Bill

The unusual shapes in bokeh that you noticed were possibly grasses or reeds at the trackside.

The delicate tracery of the silhouetted leaves make an unexpected but original upper frame to this shot from the far north, Dougie, captured on a fine day but with the occasional cloud shadow falling over the sunlit mountains.

An overall beautiful scene, but like the framing with the leaves, and also that nice bit of reflection on the bottom right. Moira

I tracked you down on Google Earth, I think I saw from where you took this image. What a place! Still missing in my agenda.
Booked our flights to Scotland (24th March/8th April) - my itinerary goes towards the east cost and Borders this time, but should I have a day to meet up with you, I'll get in touch via mobile. Let's see how things devellop. I might just jump over to Glasgow for a day.
Johanna

PS. Blamey! I forgot to tell you how much I like this image - it is Scotland at it's best! We had another load of snow this morning. 15 cm!
And it is still snowing...............................!

Super bit of light and nice framing too, I really must try and venture further afield from Glencoe Wink

Simply brilliant, I have just taken a look at your portfolio, stunning simply stunning. I have one similar snap of Llan Ogwen in north wales, for me it was just a case of being there when the light and wind were perfect.
