Crazily expensive and of no real practical use other than the odd ceremonial sip. The Nautilus Cup was often used as a symbol of wealth in classic Dutch still life paintings.

Wonderful composition and lighting. Not easy to do.
So much to see here. I am especially fascinated by the juxtaposition of the burlap and the lace. A most interesting combination of elements.
Great use of limited colour.

Thank you Joline, Good to see you picked up on the contrasting fabrics- this image is full of symbolic references to rich/poor - a lot easier to see full res.
