A portrait from the weekend
Interesting idea as I assume you are using the gloss black background to include a reflection. For me it needs a little work in exposure. It appears a little underexposed overall and the reflection is not strong enough. In turn this makes the composition feel a little unbalanced.
Perhaps some editing using a layer mask and tweaking levels may accentuate the reflection but as it is it looks a little flat.
Handsome subject and worth playing with some more as with a little more work I think you have the foundation of an interesting and different take on the usual pooch portrait.
Sorry but exposure was spot on, I had the dog to compare. A stronger reflection could become the subject and the subject is the dog, the reflection a foil.
Love the tones in this beautiful portrait............deserves more success...................
A wonderful portrait. I think your exposure is just lovely. The reflection is spot on in my opinion and you have captured the texture of his coat very well. I would have liked to see more of his left eye, a minor niggle in a fine image.
Hello Mike, not my subject but what a fantastic image, well achieved!
Many thanks for the comments guys. Totally agree about the left eye. First time out with this set up and will be amending for next time. Main thing is that the customers were happy.
I think this is just perfect, I love it.
