The story is of the siren, the lady of the sea. She sends her ravens out to sea to terrorise the foul crew to madness resulting in another ship wreck, like the anchor on the shore. The storm will pass and the sun will shine once again...she keeps balance.
The photo, again everything is from Whitby, UK. The lady has another ladies hair on as her original hair was a bit tatty and pinned up in buns, the raven was an orniment in a shop. The anchor was actually on the beach, not sure if it was an anchor or an old sea breaker, but it looked interesting. The birds I drew on my wacom and then saved it as a brush, I am sure they will come in handy again, I just drew a few then replicated them and decreased their size. Rays of sun is the aged old trick of radial blur on rendered clouds, nothing exciting but I do use it now and again.
Time, gee this took forever, I have so many versions of it. My favourite version is much more moody and dark, but poop for competitions as judges like to tick boxes and so changed it to conform to standards and make it more easy to look at =) So all in all about 30 hours. The hair alone took about 3 hours. It shouldn't have taken that long, it was only because of the version changes and the time does not always equal a good result, but I think I am at a point where this is finished now.
I know it is going to be very different from your deckchairs and kids playing in sand shots, but hey this is British seaside ^^

Thank you all and Mr Editor, had some lovely messages on this and previous images. The best comments are the ones where people tell me how it encourages them to create...in and out of the camera. If I made you smile today then that makes me smile too.
I've added the original of the lady in the before version upload as I know some of you love seeing the befores, I know I certainly do. See some of your profiles and there is a lot of excellent work out there that I think wow, wish I could have taken that photo.
No marriage offers on this photo yet though...still giggling to myself about the Avenger image =P

Am I the only contender in the marriage stakes? Lucky for me, but not so lucky for you, KT![]()
More excellent work here, I see. You have set yourself a high and difficult standard to live up to.![]()

WOW WOW WOW.
T__K Your are the best. There is no second place in your life . This is class and thanks for sharing the before and after versions. It is a real insight into what can be achieved. You have inspired me and I have decided I'm sticking with Birds on Sticks.
Well done on your EC. We will be seeing this image a lot more and rightly so.
Mr Thomas
