Swallowtail

SwallowtailFabulous detail on the butterfly and to me the background is good and provides important habitat information.

As always there are two different stiles of image that work well with this subject and you have executed this very well. Alternatively you could have selected a larger aperture say F5.6 or F4 and increased the shutter speed. This would have thrown the background more out of focus and reduced any risk of camera shake or the butterfly moving during image capture. The only compromise this would have brought is that with the reduced depth of field, anything off the focal plane would not be sharp and you may have lost focus on the antennae (as well as the herbage). This is a greater challenge when using a full frame sensor as the depth of field is already reduced by the effect of the sensor size.

IN SUMMARY - GREAT SHOT REALLY LIKE IT; JUST VERY JEALOUS THAT YOU FOUND THIS RARE BUTTERFLY!!!
