Thanks for all the votes and comments on yesterdays clouded yellow image, today I have moved away from the butterflies to try something different but from the same area.

More traditional farming methods used in the French Alps have led to a much greater variety of wildlife and wild flowers present in the area.

This image was taken last month on the South side of the Col de Fillys in the Alps de Haute Provence and shows a barley field that was brimming with wild poppies. Focus was set on the poppy at the top left intersection of thirds.

In the second version I have cropped into the image to try and concentrate attention on the main poppy (described above)

I wasn't sure which image works better and would welcome any advice.
