I've been resisting picking up the conkers on the way to work every morning. The whole road is lined with Horse Chestnut trees and as I tend to walk up there before the kids leave for school, there are usually loads of them.

I'm sure it won't be long before I cave in Smile

Go on, you know you want to Wink
Better be quick, blooming squirrels have already had most of them from our road!

Yep indeed I do Smile - I was watching a squirrel cross the pavement in front of me on Friday with a ruddy great conker complete with case in its mouth. I was hoping he/she would drop it for me but alas it disappeared off into a hedge. Sadly I couldn't get the camera out fast enough to grab a pic

They keep stripping the tree up our road then sitting on my car to eat them.
I found all these on our drive!

I used to find a lot of walnuts buried in the garden - until the neighbours chopped their walnut tree down.....

I'll make sure I've got a suitable bag for them on Monday and try to get the earlier bus to ensure that I beat the kids to them too!

Having recently put pointy conker cases in my pockets I can advise that its not a great idea as they aint half spikey!

Plus presumably my jeans are presumably a tad more snug than your trousers Smile

I guess so - even a baggy leg pocket hurts. I wouldn't want to try putting them in a pocket too close to my own conkers!
