Elizabeth Frink Sculpture.

Elizabeth Frink Sculpture.Superb capture.

Hi I have done a mod as follows.

1. Different crop
2. In shadows/highlights - set shadows to 0% and highlights to 35%
3. Increased contrast to +30
4. Quickly (so it is not perfect) clone out all the windows and white areas in the BG.
5. Painted the scarf with black at 32% opacity

I hope you like it.

Waiting for the Fairies

Waiting for the FairiesLovely image

I have done a mod where

I ran a small blur brush at 33% around the edges of the girl to help it blend in with the image, rather than looking as if it has been pasted
Cloned out some of the ragged edges in the skirt.

Hope you like it.

Bethany

BethanyLovely expression from the girl and, from a photgraphers point of view, the coloured bricks add a lot (albeit they do take the eye from the girl). I would suggest showing your client this one and a mono version and see which thet prefer.

Hope this helps

Snail

SnailI have done a mod

1. Cropped the image to remove the distracting OOF area
2. Decreased brightness by -14
3. Increased contrast by +12

Hope you like it

Autumn Splendour

Autumn SplendourI did a mod where I cropped off some of the sky, reduced brightness by -27 and increased contrast by +8.

Hope you like it

Ratty.

Ratty.1 and 2 are best. Really well caught.

I did a mod on #1 where I

1. Cropped some of the foreground
2. Using an overlay layer with the 50 gray box ticked.
a. Darkened the immediate FG at 31% opacity
b. Darkened the grass in front of the rat at 55% opacity.
3. Flattened the layer

I hope you like it

Coming In To Land.

Coming In To Land.Particularly good shot in #2 but I would either clone out or darken down the large green leaf.

See my mod where I cloned out the leaf and darkened down the FG using an overlay layer with the 50% box ticked and used a black brush at 45% opacity.
Then I flattened the layers.

Hpe you like it.

Crystal Fountain

Crystal FountainExcellent use of the light. Personally, I would crop out the sky to give the fabulous light on the fountain more prominence

Daniel Thorndike

Daniel ThorndikeI have done a mod as follows

1. Increased contrast +8 and reduced brightness -15
2. Extended the canvas on the LH side and cloned in some of the BG. I felt he need a bit more space in front of him. (The cloning was done quickly so it is not quite right but will give you an idea).

Hope you like the mod

portrait 1

portrait 1The girl has been caught with lovely expressions and has beautiful eyes.

With #1, I do not like the close crop but that is probably just me.

#2 has a bit of originality to it which I enjoy. To me the bag is too overpowering and I think either a plain or a smaller bag would be better. I do like the low angle.

Hope this helps

festival characters

festival charactersGreat expressions and characters.

If the lost finger tip bothers you then, just a suggestion, you could crop his arm off (up to his sleeve). You would also get rid of the sign.

big brother

big brotherFor a first attempt this is very good. As already been mentioned, the eye needs to be more prominent and lighter.

I am not sure about the area in the bottom RH corner. It doesn't say anything about the picture. The cat like figure is excellent although it seems a bit messy around it, however, it is a very strong part of the picture.

The secret of this sort of picture is to not have too much in it. It is so easy to add another bit, and then another bit until the picture gets too cluttered.

I hope you read this as constructive comments meant to help. Keep on using your imagination. From personal experience, some people like this sort of work and others wonder what planet you are on. With the latter, ignore them.
Fete des Battages, Fontaine-GuérinI prefer #3 but have done a mod on #1. Using curves in PS, I picked a midpoint grey on one of the roofs and in brightness/contrast darkened the image a tad and increased the contrast a tad.

Hope you like it

Portrait !

Portrait !Lovely portrait. If it were mine I would clone out the small white area, just above the parting in the hair. It was the first thing I noticed when I viewed your picture. I would also do the same to the small highlight between the eyes

PURITY

PURITYWell presented. Just a tip - The left hand top of the flower has no detail. For this sort of sort, I try and expose for the lightest part. In this case the left hand top of the flower.

william got framed

william got framedI have done a mod where I have

1. Rotated the image as I felt it looked better that way.
2. Did a tad of sharpening
3. Darkened some of the lighter streaks going out of the picture using the overlay layer.

Hope you like it.

re the border, it does not bother me too much as I like the whole image as it is different. If you were to enter it in a competition then the judge might well criticise it for the border, as achieverswales has pointed out. However, if you like it as it is then that is good.

Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)

Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)Hi Ray

I have never got close to one of these let alone photograph it.

I have done a mod.

1. I have painted over the whiteish area on the LH side as I felt that distrcted a bit.

2. Cloned out some distraction in the bottom RH corner.

3. Using the overlay layer, darken the branch.

4. Flattened the layers.

Hope you like it.

Life passing by

Life passing byThe movement has been caught very well. The thing that struck me was the figure being too close to the left hand side. It would be possible to extend the canvas on that side and then clone the new space. With this sort of image, it is not too difficult to do.

Cheetah at twilight

Cheetah at twilightThe problem with this sort of images is that the cheetah looks as though it has been stuck there. This is because the sharpness of the cheetah is too sharp.

In my mod, I have used the blur tool, at 12%, along the outline of the cheetah to help blend it into the rest of the picture.

I hope this helps is this is a super image

Barn owl at Ludlow castle

Barn owl at Ludlow castleExcellent capture, maybe a bit too central. Did a mod where I cropped the RH side and extended the canvas on the LH side, cloning the wall in.

Hope you like it.
