| What have you gained from this site? OK I have now sussed it, Just how much has Pistol Pete paid you and Mike to start this forum...!!!
On a serious note I register for this site in Jan but did not start using it till late April, since then I have gain so much from the comments and suggestion left by other photographers, which to me has been invaluable as I find I can learn more from here than most books I read. I have made lots of new friends along the way and hope no enemies. So what have I gained not much.....LOL Roger |

| Minolta A1 and external flash I have been using the sigma DG-500 SUPER flash with my A1, they are expensive to buy new, but a good camera shop may be able to offer you a used one, then they are worth their weight in gold. Saying that I waited about 2 weeks before one came along..
This does work perfectly from the hot shoe with full fatures. Roger |

| St catherines dock Kevin, you may regret not taking your tripod, there is a number of other places where you can get good shots and use your tripod....
If you have a monopod, I seem to get away without being hassled too much. Roger |

| Are you as bad as me at taking "hand held" photos? Ashley, like Brian I have been using a monopod recently, and must say it has helped a lot, much easier to carry around and fairly quick to set up, goes have a few drawbacks, but on the whole you might find it easier.
If you do decide to go one look at the Manfrotto one's I can recommend.. Roger |

| Camera recommedations Jules have you looked at the Minolta A1, now that the A2 is out, this camera has proved well worth the features for somethin in between a compact and a DSLR.
You will have a 7x opictal zoom, LCD, Manual controls. I have used one for about 3 months now and no problems. Roger |

| Which should I go for Canon 10D or Nikon D100??. Thanks Bob, have you had much problem with noise levels? I read a reviews which highlighted, this as a weakness, but overall results where good.

| Which should I go for Canon 10D or Nikon D100??. David,
I did have my eye on a 10D, but the short supply of them has not helped matters, I have also been offered a D100 at a reduced price of 1029 Body Only and a good deal on some lenses, but as I did make a mistake with my first camera, by going for a fixed lens rather than spending a bit more and have an DSLR. |

| Which should I go for Canon 10D or Nikon D100??. Mike
I tend to shoot mainly still life close up and landscapes, but I wish to expand this is why the change, currently I am using a Minolta A1 |

| Which should I go for Canon 10D or Nikon D100??. Thinking of changing up which, should I aim ....after reading reviews totally confused now, I know there is not a lot of difference between the two, looking for pro's and con's from owners of either camera.

| Deleting images I tend to leave all photos on regardless of number of hearts, helps me to see where I can improve, but saying this I have had to delete 1~2 where they have not been clear or have not turned out as I had intended.

| Bonusprint Just to stir the hornets nest now, I use Costco who have a 1 hour service for digital or film prints 4*6 only 10p each, they use a computer to download from CD or Memory cards. the photos have always been of very good quality and to date I have had no complaints.

| RAW Poll, User or Not 3 for me,
As time is never an issue with me, only downsight I find that when using RAW can take twice as many photos on the same memory card. Then you pay the price on your pc harddrive as when this are saved or converted to Tiff the files become 4 times the original. |
85 | 01/07/2004 - 9:09 PM By nicke2935 | |
| How many images on CF cards? From what I have learnt, don't put all your photo's in one basket, try to use 2-3 cards (say 128mb) rather than 1 card with a higher memory.
