On to todays image.
This is the Bronze winged Duck (Speculanas Specularis) or Spectacled duck as it is also known. It has also been called a Dog duck as the female has a call which sounds like a harsh bark. It is a threatened species that is native to Argentina and Chile. It is a dabbling duck and is often placed in the Genus Anas with other dabbling ducks but its closest relatives are the crested duck and brazilian duck. These two species, along with the Bronze winged duck form monotypic genera. Meaning that there is the only bird in their species.
