Unfortunately the uploaded image is quite small so it's difficult to see any detail. The eye doesn't stand out (no catchlight) and the wire fence is a bit distracting (maybe a shallower dof?). These things don't tend to hang around in my experience, unless of course the French ones are a bit lazyer, so good attempt (not that I'm an expert at taking bird shots).
