I found these guys very tricky to capture well, particularly in the water where their subtle colours blend with the murky water. Nevertheless I did get a lot of reasonable shots of these incredibly endearing creatures at The British Wildlife Centre doing what they do best - being very, very lively.
The feed that you can see in several of these shots, fish heads, chicks and goat, had an obvious aphrodisiac effect as we lost them at the end of the session to doing what comes naturally out of camera range. Lets hope for babies as a result.
I just had to choose the fish head chomping action for the opening shot - just look at those teeth and whiskers! Please bear with all 14 shots and tell me which ones you like best. V14 includes a well known EPZ-er. See if you recognise her.
Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Must say Lynne you have excelled yourself, all a joy to look at they all deserve a separate upload, if I have to choose I will go for V9 I love it, by the way I am cooking Fish Chicks and goat for my wife's dinner today, we live in hope, as you have Canon Gear this might be of interest to you, I know you have a very good following on here so might help them as well. It has come from my Camera Club.

What a wonderful set..
That "foot" sticking out in V4 is to say a word ...yuk!
My favourite is V7... the stealthy way he is approaching whatever.... is just great for me.
And yes ... recognised that brilliant photographer straight away
Could that be Lillian in V14 by any chance?!
I tried to photograph these creatures at Chester Zoo back 2007 but they're just too lively!
A wonderful set, Lynne, all delightful, but if I'd to choose a fave, V9 I think ![]()

v9 then v4 with the foot
. Didn't need any clues for v14 - the 5D MkIII and 100-400 lens gives it away ![]()

Recognized Lillian straight away Lynne.
The clue was the mention of ''wet butts'' in the past !!
Don't see too many otters on site,so good to see them here.
Don't fancy their diet for keeping them frisky though.
But if it works for them that's all that counts I suppose.
Fave is V9.Reckon it has a bit of a meerkat about it !!
Good set.
Mick.
V4 for me but a difficult choice as they are all worthy of their own showing - excellent work as for V14 I know that lady no problem with ID![]()
What a beautiful set!!
We have an otter literally in the river at the bottom of our road..but I've still not seen it & its driving me mad!!

They are all excellent shots, Lynne,. It's hard to pick up which one is... only from action point of view, I like V2 and V9, V2's ripple is beautiful, and the eyes are lovely, the image tell us Otter is coming...V9 made us wonder what the Otter was looking at...
a fantastic series Lynne, you made the very best of a unique opportunity!
Xwang - unromantic it might be but the otter was looking straight at the lady with the bucket of fish heads, chicks and goat meat!
VanillaPenguin - get yourself a bucket of fish heads, chicks and goat meat and you might just entice them out.
A stunning set - love them all but especially Vs 3 and 9. Well captured!
Carol
Is that U in V14 ? The most interesting fact about an Otter is their stomach muscles. A great set.
In these 14 action shots of an otter there must be some of the best ever taken.
You patience and skill has certainly come to the forefront Lynne.
Well done. WesternRed.
What a superb set Lynne excellent presentation..Lin
Don't really like having to choose a favourite from all thes emarvellous shots, Lynne, but V3 does stick in my mind....marvelous imitation of a merecat![]()
