Another new bee to my garden today, the Teddy Bear Bee !! Another Aussie native Bee.
The teddy bear bee is stingless.
V2 is just your garden variety bee.
Big, super cute, well-rounded and fluffy, they’re often mistaken for a Bumble Bee (but there are no Bumble Bees on mainland Australia). A solitary bee, 7-15mm long, the females lay their eggs in several cells at the end of a 10cm long burrow dug into soil, earth and creek banks. The males can often be found hanging out on plant stalks overnight. These bees are also buzz pollinators , like yesterday's blue banded bee, and make a distinctive hum as they fly about.
Thank you for all clicks and comments on my Blue Banded Bee.. she was back today, so hopefully I will be able to get a good image to put on here.
