Taken at the same time as my last shot only with more water added to the face! I wanted quite a dramatic feel for this shot so I've cropped quite heavily into the face.
Converted to B&W using gradient map in PS then adjusted tones and included mottled BG. Again shot with window light and a black reflector placed to the left of the model/husband.
Thanks for taking a look. Lyns x
Please take a look a the larger version if you have time

I'm clicking on this because it's a great piece of work, but also because my Wife thinks he's a hunk, and will be giving me evil looks all night if I don't.

He makes a good model, wonderful portrait
Can I ask what you mean by 'converted to B&W using gradient map'? I've been experimenting with different conversion and toning techniques, and I really like the effect you have achieved here.
Thanks Steve. If you go to Image > Adjustments > Gradient Map and then choose which gradient you want. I always convert it to the B&W gradient then do any colour adjustments in Hue/Saturation afterwards. It's great to use gradient map if you want quite a contrasty image and it works as a separate layer so you can keep going back to the colour original if you want to. Lyns x
Thanks for the quick reply - very helpful. And thanks for the comment on 'Vicenza'
