The game is called trotting races; seems having to do something with how the horses move their legs while running, an unnatural movement makes them pacing faster, and that is what a race is about.

Two forms of trotting, one uses the normal diagonal gait and the other pairs, the straps on the leg enforce the gait (the horse on the far side has got confused). I've ridden an ex trotting horse once, very weird as the others were galloping, we were still trotting, very bouncy at first, but up to speed it was really smooth.

Anyway, like the shot & it has a really good feel of the speed.

Really nice sense of speed Alf, and I like the way you've caught the horses stretching themselves out and fully extending those long speedy legs. Nice shot. helen

Great action shot: you've caught it well. Thanks to Sarah for the info too: I always think it looks odd and now she's pointed out the one on the far side I can see what she means! (Mind you I always got a bit mixed up when trying counter canter)

I know nothing about trotting, but I do like this picture, full of action, colour, intense facial expressions and excitement. The composition, though probably not chosen, is excellent and runs across the screen smoothly. With no other distractions, the grass forms an ideal bg.
