Going back to summer days, I spent a few hours photographing some poppies in a field - only I got distracted by the many grasshoppers all around. They are funny little things as they seem to see you and move round to the back of the stem away from you - so you have to be quick!
Although the background was fairly blurred, I felt it was still too messy. So I selected the grasshopper and made the background even more blurred. I know it may not now seem to be a natural background, but I felt it made the insect stand out more.
Tell me what you think - have I overdone it?

I think you have done a marvellous job, not at all overdone. It's got to be worth making an effort on a good image like this.
