Senanque Abbey is one of the always-seen places to photograpgh lavender; although maybe not the best it's worth going there. We went when we arrived but because of the late, damp Spring (yes, even in Provence!) it wasn't ready! On returning at the end of our week it was looking much better, though still not the striking purple it would be in the coming week. I will put up others with which shows the vibrancy when in full colour.

Thanks for looking

Maggie

I quite like the understated, muted colour here. Lavender, ancient stone and sunshine - takes me there. Sighs quietly to herself...

The stone backdrop makes a contrasting and different lavender image. Nicely seen, Maggie.

I like the viewpoint. The lavender looks as if it's falling over the edge, like a waterfall.

A beautifully contrasting composition, the harsh grey tones working beautifully against the glorious purples of the lavender...

I very much like the composition here, with the rows of lavender creating a super perspective. The muted purples are also very nice.
