Blue Tit ( parus caeruleus )
Recent capture at the feed station on a lovely sunny but bitterly cold morning. This little bird was engaged in picking seed out of a hole in the trunk and adopted this pose which made him look for all the world like a minature Woodpecker.
I like him and I hope you may also.
My very grateful thanks for the tremendous response to the Coal Tit. Most generous.
Ron

excellent detail and yes, he must be an apprentice woodpecker!
This is an excellent capture of the lovely Blue Tit. Excellent..
Samar..
looks like he is waiting for you to take the photo
That's all we need - a Blue Tit with an existential identity crisis (I am a Blue Tit therefore I am a Woodpecker)
I hope they don't do that to my Silver Birches... Excellent shot.
He's been watching the big fellers. Love the peeling bark on the silver birch.
Ow, just cut myself on the sharpness! A beauty Ron.

Smashing portrait of one of my favourite birds Ron. I remember watching these as a child from my Aunts kitchen window. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
A real corker Ron, the detail and colours in the plumage are superb and the little fella is posing very nicely for you
Cracking detail and pose Ron, a splendid shot,
Geoff.
I might have darkened the tree trunk Ron but a minor detail as this is a superb bluey shot and so well detailed
He sure thought he's a woody! ![]()
Super pose and capture,
Johanna
