Fallow Deer Buck (dama dama)
Thought perhaps it might be quite nice to see the Fallow after all the superb shots we have so far seen of the Reds. Chanced upon this fellow resting in the early morning sun. Fallow are very much shyer and gentler than the Reds but they are quite capable of ferocious encounters with fellow males in the pursuit of the Does.
Lovely to look at with great hide markings and very distinctive 'spade antlers'
Hope you will enjoy looking.
Most grateful, as ever, for all the c/c's on 'Aint she Sweet'. Thanks to everyone.
Ron

Nice to see an example of the Fallow Deer, Ron, and you have this chap's full attention: fine shot in the winter sun, and good use of fullish apperture.
Ronnie.

Fabulous rich, warm, golden light, Ron and beautiful pose and eye contact. Not so easy to get a shot of a Fallow as they tend to slip back into the woods and out of sight so quickly. This chap is obviously luxuriating in the sunshine!
