Jackdaw (corvus monedula)
Captured on a recent trip to Bushy Park. Loads of these in that place; mostly spending their time picking the ticks from the backs of the deer. Very useful in that respect I would think. Got rather a malevolent look about him I feel, particularly in the eye. Quite pleased to get this one posing in a tree.

He made laugh out loud!
That look in his eye is so cocky 
Such endearing and relatively tame birds, I kept one as a pet for several years as a kid, well when I say I kept as a pet, that's not strictly true, he kept me as a pet and he was the wild one and used to come and go into the house as he pleased.....Such characters!

great shot looks very menacing the way he is giving you the eye
A fine shot of this shady character, I like the pose and detail you've captured in the plumage. I remember a pair of these mobbing epzer gary_d when he was sat eating his sandwiches at Slimbridge, when one distracted him the other pinched one of his sandwiches from his lunchbox and flew off with it up a tree!
I love these birds, the colour of their eyes is amazing. Lovely shot.
