The Dartford Warbler (syvlia unata)
I was very pleased to get a shot of this little beastie. A really rather uncommon bird ( on the protected list) and I cant in all honesty say that I have seen one before. A real challenge to operating the shutter button as it seldom stays still for more than a second or two before diving for cover. I think that 'bullseye' target of an eye is unmistakable and makes an ideal focus point. I hope I have managed to get it right this time. I was fortunate to catch him in some natural habitat.
Hope you can find a moment to look large.
I am absolutely overwhelmed by the very generous response to the Tree Pipit. I thought it was lovely and it appears a lot of others thought so as well. Thank you all.
Ron

Cracking image and the eye is in perfect focus. Saw my first one on Saturday at Dunnich, but only managed a few so so images.
Congratulations on getting the Dartford Warbler, and what a stunning image, it really has to be viewed large to fully appreciate it.
Superb shot. Personally, I would trim a bit off the top to give a stronger composition
How wonderful Ron...I've not seen one of these before, he is very handsome.
Lovely colour to his feathers which you have captured so well.
