Just after the sun sinks below the horizon, the sky, and its reflection in the river, goes a lovely dark velvety blue. I've tried to use this to backdrop an iconic view of London, ok conventional and banal if you want, by incorporating the Houses of Parliament, the clock tower, the London eye, the river itself with all its ferries coming and going, as well as the bustle of a city that never quite sleeps.
Single frame 30 second exposure Looking up-river from Hungerford bridge. No special processing other than to develop the raw file twice, once for the main image and once at -4 stops for the clock face. These were than combined by hand in photoshop. Sorry about the big empty area, but I really had to capture the light trails from the fast ferry to Greenwich!!

Superb, love the way the light trail on the river provides a lead-in.
