A closer look at fungi found on a cross-section of timber in Alberta woodlands. The tree had been taken down by beaver.

I've never seen such a clean tree trunk or fungi. You sure you didn't give it a good old scrub before snapping?
Love the warm colours and tones.
They look good enough to eat, Malcolm. However, I am not sure I would dare to try them.
The tree is a very complementary bg to the simple, clean fungi.
