I don't know what the tiny grub like critter is, but it was really tiny, about half a cm long. It suddenly appeared as I was taking these Quaking grasses, anyway I decided not to flick it off the seeds and was quite surprised to see as much detail in it when I looked closer at the image later on.

Not sure Jane, think ladybird nymphs are red and black, this one was mostly brown and grey, probably some kind of beetle nymph though.
