I think a crop would bring out the best in this image.
I'd crop sky off completely since it's burnt out anyway.
Then I'd crop a good bit off left hand side leaving the gull
and the grasses as that is your subject.
Then I think you'd have a more appealing image
as the bird and grasses are really lovely.

V2 is way better. I would add to Kates suggestion by cropping a little more off the left, to just include the person in dark blue closest to the cliffs far left; and if you know how to reduce highlights, you can recover a great deal of detail in the white of the Gull. I have downloaded V2 and performed these changes and it look very good. A very nice shot.
