A selection of images of butterflies that i've seen this spring and summer when out and about in the Cotswolds.
V1 - A brown argus on a devils bit scabious at Prestbury Hill nature reserve near Cheltenham, taken in mid September
V2 - A small copper at Prestbury Hill taken in early August on a visit there with epzer Tomcat
V3 - A large skipper butterfly at Prestbury Hill taken back in July
V4 - A male green veined white I saw in a country lane near Burford in Oxfordshire back in May
V5 - A male marbled white butterfly feeding on some knapweed in a field near Prestbury Hill, taken back in early July
V6 - A female meadow brown taken at the summit of Leckhampton Hill near Cheltenham back in August
V7 - A male adonis blue butterfly at Swelshill Bank near Stroud, taken in early September
V8 - A wall brown butterfly at the summit of Leckhampton Hill near Cheltenham, taken back in August.

Interesting how over half of these have settled on vegetation where they are effectively camouflaged by colour.
