Tiger Swallowtail
Pterourus glaucus
This enormous (oversized) FEMALE Eastern Tiger Swallowtail turned up on the butterfly bush yesterday--females show much more blue than the males--- languid and feeding deeply!
Five more species of butterflies we have been looking for all summer turned up on the Autumn Joy sedum today!
I thought I was done with butterflies!--- Enjoy!

I think this must be one of the very best swallowtail butterfly shots that I have seen, Jenn: the detail, lighting and colors (not the spelling for the US market
.......it's actually a typing error but an appropriate one to leave uncorrected) are all quite exquisite. Beautiful bit of photography.
