I was doing some portraits of this young emo teenager and I saw the likeness in attitude with the portrait on the wall and thought i'd put them together!

There's a rather satisfying triangle at work - the painting looking at the girl, the girl looking at you. It leads the eye around. I like the formality of the linear composition too. I've spent quite a while studying this, it's an image that makes the brain work.

I saw the diagonals first Mari, my personal favourite compositional aid, much more interesting than the war of thirds. Sorry Rule of thirds. The painting is something else within the image, the teenager seems to have found her match in the expression of disdain. A brilliant encapsulation of teenagers and their attitudes. That's a generalisation of course.
We who are of another generation see teenagers as impertinent as they well can be. But for me it's the disdain for everything other than their thoughts which I find worrying. I have the misfortune to stay close to a school and the "pupils" pass by my window going to and fro. Litter seems to be the lesson of the day because they drop their breakfast wrappers, crisp packets and coke bottles along the route to school, and at lunchtime they go out to the local takeaway shops and the Ice cream van, more dropping of litter, and lots of food for the seagulls. Etc Etc Etc.
Sorry to say all of this on your very clever image Mari, your indulgence please, an old man wandering and forgetting that he was once young too.

Teenagers eh, don't you just love em, glad all my girls have reached adulthood now
Trouble is the grandchildren will be soon getting to those cranky years that they go through......ARGHHHH!
Well taken mate and it works really well with the poster and in mono...
