Really pleased to get what I consider to be a decent picture of a Kingfisher, but what do you think?
EDIT ... I'm really pleased this has reach 70 Votes, making it my highest number of votes reached on EPZ. - THANK YOU.
This is a beauty, I think you should be very proud of this shot.
what a stunning picture, great wildlife shot.....
Thank you, yes I was pleased, and it's printed framed and now part of my photo gallery. Just need a bigger front room.
A classic pose, perfectly executed. I'm stunned!
Be Proud be very proud cracking shot
Yes its an excellent shot - caught a glint in the eye too. I can see why you are pleased. Well done.
Can't help with the larger front room Marian, but I am impressed with your image of this little lady!! Well done on capturing such a difficult subject. Good detail in the feathers, and lovely colour, composition and pose.
Excellent capture, well composed
excellent shot i ve been following one of these for about two weeks now and still haven't got a decent shot...nice one patman
Wow! this is fantastic - one of my favourite birds - which helps and you have captured it so well.
A cracking shot Marian, the detail and colours are spot on and the bird is posing wonderfully for you
very well done marian..........ive been trying to get one like this forever
Nice and sharp, plenty of detail. It appears to lack a little colour saturation though (on my pc at least), The white band behind the birds head is a little off-putting, not lost though. Good capture all the same.
Nice image ...........
well I think its brilliant, would love to have a photo like that myself - LOL ..... maybe one day
it's beautiful and you should be pleased with it. I'd be thrilled, especially as I haven't got one at all
Brilliant capture im so jealous
and you would be right... deeply envious.. well done...
Super image Marian,
I agree Marian. A real beauty. Lovely poser.
Really appreciate all your comments including the suggestion from Darren that it needs a bit more saturation. Very difficult to avoid the white line by it's head, it's the water that has caused that, and I think the only way to get rid of the line would be to clone it out - yes - and I may even give that a try. Most of the images had more than one white line, which was a shame. The Kingfisher has been seen in the location for a few days now, so I hope to visit again.
But 44 Votes, this could prove to be by best image of the year!
This is great Marion where did you find him ? I have not been to the pool yet has he come back ?
Wonderful.... great pose, detail and DOF
Marian, this is excellent....you must be delighted :
a cracking shot - nice one
I think it's a beauty Marian. I wish I could get one, been trying for ages but they seem to have disappeared from my neck of the woods.
Thanks again for the comments, yes it was at Venus Pool, but he didn't stop around long, 15 mins and he was gone, and never came back. I had been in the hide for 4 hours.
Pete, I hope you get a picture one day, try asking around your local area, that's what I did. I think people must have got a little fed up with me asking all the time, but in the end it paid off.
Wow Marian, this is amazing!!!!!
Superb shot in all respects.
Beautiful and I am very jealous, have spent hours looking for one but only seen tham whizzing past.
Thank you for making this one reach 70 Votes, my most votes ever on EPZ.
I'd be over the moon if I had this sitting in my pf!
Three superb captures.
Very well done.
Love all your Kingfisher shots.
PS: Where have you taken them please???
All taken from the locked hide at Venus Pool.
...shame that I haven't got a key for the hide... )
