The shutter speed was about 250th/second as I recall. I locked the (auto) exposure and focus on the end of the jump ramp (which was at a frankly terrifying angle!), then panned with the action until the critical moment. Had to use the viewfinder of course (which is something like 85% of the final image - allowing me to zoom right in with confidence).

A friend and I got some prints made up at the Sony VAIO truck and took them back to the riders about 20 minutes later!
