I'm sure she will love this pic . . . ![]()
She went on to win and equal her personal best time.
I was trying to capture the explosive start, and have tonemapped the image to give the resulting effect.
I like the tones on the athletes and the texture of the track surface in this pic. It had rained shortly before the race.
Thanks for looking.

Great timing and superb processing - raw power unleashed - excellent shot
Antony
I'm not really a fan of this kind of processing but in this instance, I'll disregard that!
What impact you have here.
You've captured the moment perfectly and the gritty finish is an excellent choice. I imagine this looks better than its colour original.
I'm sure your daughter will love it too.
Bren.
Great dynamice feel to this Mark. Like Bren, not a big fan of the treatment, but it does work here. I like the suggestions made above, and incorporated them in a mod. Ive cropped to a panoramic format, removed that corner grass, leveled using the blocks as a reference. I like the different perspective the pano gives it. Also toned down the highlights a little.
If you have the colour original, why not upload it as a mod so we can see whats possible with that to?
Hope this helps,
regards
Willie
