I spent a long time trying to find a word that suited this image. I was quite excited about the prospect of this image when I was composing it, it was about to rain, but that meant nothing as I was in full on learning mode.
Looking at it afterwards, I think it portrays many things, solitude, solemnity, possibly foreboding or even hope with the brightness in a dark and ominous sky. Anyway, solemnity it is.
I hope you like it, a long exposure, presented exactly as captured, no clever processing at all.
Thanks as always to those that take the time to, click, comment and vote on any of my images, your thoughts are appreciated.

Its also a very still and quiet capture - lovely tones - and some delightful additional colours on those houses. A very well taken shot Mark. ![]()

I tried to think of a better word but I can't. Solemnity is the perfect title.
Mark, every now and then, I open an image in ePz and let out a soft audible "wow."
This was one of those times.
What a beautiful image.

PS Maybe "reverie" would be a close second to "solemnity."
A stunning image Mark full of stillness and beauty, I have yet to master the 'long exposure' you have captured this beautifully

I never get tired of seeing the effects on images that long exposure gives you. This is fantastic Mark, well composed.

It's all about capturing mood and this has it in bucket loads.
