One from the archives. From a trip to the Dales in March last year, and the visit to Scaleber Force early on.
Tone Mapped from one image, and converted to mono in CS2.
See what you think, as my mono skills leave something to be desired!!

One day mate, one day. And no-one will scream louder than me when it happens (apart, possibly, than you!)
I have to agree with the top comment (Paul) that you are rather better at this than you suggest. Excellent clarity and comp and a very good conversion indeed!

how did i miss this one,
thats fantastic martin.such a well deserved ec.
well done martin.
ps. have you come down from cloud 9 yet. LOL.
Superb and well done.
Congrats Martin - a well deserved EC
Good job on the EC. The contrast of the smooth flow and sharp detail works well. I've found converting to monochrome on tone-mapped images can work really well as it keeps the detail without the distraction of highly saturated colours.
Thank you all very much.
Just about Daz, just about!!

Lovely. Great conversion. I can't crack this B & W lark, so appreciate someone that has.
Just found this on one of my old uploads - seems you've cracked it.
Cheers Kris. On this shot maybe!
It's a brave move to post up a shot that's been seen so much in colour. Converted well and displaying a fine tonal range. Nice one!
Huge grats Martin, thoroughly well deserved.

I was away when you posted this amazing shot Martin so would have missed it had it not been for the POTW.
As others have rightly said the composition and tonal range in the image are outstanding. The way you've kept the bright highlights under control is masterful.

Just stumbled upon this.

STUNNING SHOT LOVE THE B/W
Superbly taken and presented, like the variety within the falls...
Excellent!!! love the fusion of the frozen dreamlike effects and the
impending reality of the rocks in the background>>
in short ..description beyond articulation..brilliant
Love this shot love the falls in the middle section...
nothing wrong with your mono skills!
If your mono skills leave a lot to be desired, then I mine are non-starters! I picked this image from your pf to look at more closely before I'd registered the EC + PW - I was attracted by the almost abstract quality of the composition, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm off to have a look around, now (I'm already familiar with your website in the big wide world). I may be some time...
Stunning image - just to add to all the above - took me ages to scroll thru the comments !! - fantastic shot - fantastic pf - Tom
Well exposed with great mono tones.
great pic uncle martin, looks good on the wall
