Manchester Pride

Manchester PrideHi there - I have an idea that would have improved this shot - first get hold of a longer lens, say 200mm, no need to be longer than this and these are cheap all over the place. I would then say photograph the scene scene from much further away and at, say, f4. In addition I would have shot this in landscape not portrait (there is too much road and building above in portrait). The effect of the lens would have been three-fold. First you would have had a reduced depth of field (more selective focus) focusing the viewers attention on the three chraracters; Second the lens would have "compressed" the perspective of the image creating a sense of scale, especially with the crouds lining the street; and third, you would have been able to display more closely the expressions on the three characters faces - and they are good interesting expressions too.
This is not the only way to shoot this scene, just one way!
