A lot of great things about this image.

The long exposure has worked really well and the colour of the clouds/sky creates quite a moody image. I agree with almiles as I like the central placement of the statue too. This shot does have quite a lonely and contemplative feel about it and in my mind it almost looks as though the statue is someone who is walking out into the sea.

Love it and definitely deserves the awards.

The central placement of both the figure and the horizon work really well here and low light and long exposure give a wonderful atmosphere to this one. I like the way the subtle reflected light silhouettes the figure. A cracking image
