Trying to catch the crocus before it blooms away
Handheld at ISO800. RAW mode. Crop.
It looks like an alien life form. A lovely photo, the details of the stamen and the colours are excellent.

Very good shot and nice frame.
I'm amazed that you managed this handheld. Beautiful with great use of depth of field.
Just brilliant, wonderful detail and excellent DOF to emphasise the focal point.
Thanks for all your comments
Andrew (trahern) - I've always had a steady hand, and feel it's at least worth giving tricky shots a go. A tripod's always better though The ISO800 made up for some of the wobbles in this shot .
Glad you like it.
What a beauty, amazing close up, you did it very well. Patrizia
Superb shot! I tried to get one today of a crocus too.. unfortunately my camera focussed on the wrong bit Roll on new camera delivery!
Thanks for your comments Patrizia and Phil
Very nice indeed, love the colours and the detail of the stamen.
Like it a lot!
Beautiful Matt, I like this very much.
Thanks Alethea, Stefania, and Anne. Glad you all like the shot I really enjoyed all your galleries too!
SAFFRAN!!!, gorgeous colours, click (*:*)
Sorry, it is Saffron, and it is a herb made from the stamens of crocus, as expensive as gold, used mostly in rice dishes, to make this a golden yellow, and give it a very particular taste eg: paella. Thanx for the feedback (*:*)
