It's been a while since my last upload and even longer since I've made a composite image. The trappings of the 9-5 seem to have taken a firm hold lately. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but I enjoyed making this composite.
Cheers,
Andy.

I really like this - the only thing that spoils it for me is knowing that in reality the poppies and barley would only reach their knees, rather than being up round their waists. Still, very impressive composite - way better than anything I could achieve!

As well as kneeling like Andrew says, don't forget that modern grains have all been bred to be much shorter and therefore wind resistant. Medieval species were much taller and so probably were the weeds that grew in them (like poppies)!
Biological plausibility aside, this is a really excellent composite and I'm in awe of your PS skills, Andy! The idea is clever and the mood very dramatic, especially with the look on the facing knight's face and the heavy rain.
My only constructive criticism would be I can't quite work out what the knight with his back to us is doing with his free arm; his elbow seems to be stretching into the barley? I guess he could have his arm bent but the bit of his hauberk that vanishes into the field seems to be too close to be the sleeve. A minor point only in this brilliant image!

Thankyou all for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated.
Leilani thankyou for the award ![]()
Al - the arm of the knight with his back to us doesn't exsist in the source image,a horse was in the foreground, I agonised over this for a long time and spent quite some time trying to solve the problem. The arm is created from mail of the other arm and I tried to make it look as though it is bent round.
Cheers,
Andy.
Love the action and also the limited pallet of colours. The red of the poppies may not be a true colour, but it works well with the clothing - gets my UA

Thankou everyone,
Graham I had already darkened the castle quite a bit and didn't want to push it any further so probably just my taste.
Helen, I was trying to get that filmlike desaturated feel hence the muted colours, pleased that it seems to work.
Cheers also for the UA and HC !
Absolutely superb well put together and very well thought out EXCELLENT ![]()
